Yao Ming (or Yao Min, 姚敏) was a Chinese Shidaiqu singer and composer.
Yao was born in Shanghai in or around 1919. He had a sister Yao Lee. He showed special talents in music. He could play Erhu, violin and piano at his early age before learn playing any musical instruments.
Yao Min and Yao Lee followed their uncle to perform at some radio stations. They gained thunderous applause and a lot of praises. Zhou Xuan and Yan Hua even introduced them to Pathe Records.
